01Day

Kathmandu TO PARO (ALTITUDE: 2230 METERS)

Today, we will have our flight to Paro and in the afternoon, we will be having the first orientation tour of the city center.  Overnight: Hotel, Full Board

02Day

PARO TO THIMPU (ALTITUDE: 2300 METERS)

Today, we will be walking to Taktsang Monastery also known as "Tiger's Nest". In afternoon, we will be heading to Thimpu with a stop at the Tschogang Lhakhang temple.

03Day

SIGHTSEEInG IN THIMPU (ALTITUDE: 2300 METERS)

Today, we will be visiting the memorial Chorten, the Art School and the hospital of traditional medicine. In the afternoon, we will visit the Changangkha temple, the Drubthob female monastery, the folklore, and textile arts museum and the impressive Trashi Chhoe Dzong. Trashi Chhoe Dzong is one of the main attraction of Thimpu which is situated on the bank of river Wang Chu. This actually is main house of original National Assembly, the secretariat, offices of king and ministers of different finances. Finally, we will visit a zoo that hosts the rare "takin", a national animal.

04Day

Thimpu TO PUNAKHA (ALTITUDE: 1350 METERS)

Today, we will be heading to Punakha via the Dochula pass which will take about 2 and ½ hrs. drive. In afternoon, we will be visiting Punakha Dzong. Punakha Dzong is located at the confluence of Pho Chu River and Mo Chu River. It remains to be one of the most important dzongs in the country. This is where all the kings of Bhutan have been officially crowned. We will also be walking through the "fertility village" to the small Chhimi Lhakhang temple. We will also visit the ancient Semthokha Dzong.  Overnight: Hotel, Full Board

05Day

PUNAKHA TO GANGTEY/PHOBJIKHA VIA WANGDUE PHODRANG

Today, we will be driving up a winding mountain road through oak and rhododendron forests, and over a high pass down into the wide and picturesque Phobjikha valley. The valley of Phobjikha is well known as the winter home of the Black-necked Crane (Grus Nigricollis). Bhutan is home to around six hundred black-necked cranes with Phobjikha being one of the popular places that the birds migrate to in the winter months from the Tibetan plateau. The elegant and shy birds can be observed from early November to end of March. Overlooking the Phobjikha valley is the Gangtey Gompa. This is an old monastery that dates back to 17th century.

06Day

Today, we will visit the Information Centre and enjoy some of the many nature trails throughout the valley. We will transfer to Paro by crossing the Dochula pass. In the afternoon, we will be visiting Paro Dzong and the Kyichu Lhakhang temple. We will also be visiting the local market.

07Day

paro to haa to paro

Today, we will drive to Haa through Chele La (3,988 m). From the pass, we can see Paro valley on one side and then Haa valley on the other. We can also have a picnic at Chele La if we would like to. In Haa, we will be sightseeing and then go to katsho village and visit the Katso Lhakhang. The valley of Haa was only opened to Tourist in 2002 and Haa is the least visited valley in Bhutan due to the lack of Tourist infrastructure. This has helped in keeping Haa the way it has always been, with Bhutanese families living their traditional and simple life. There are no tourist standard hotels in Haa valley, so we will return to Paro for the night.

08Day

paro to Kathmandu

Today, we will transfer to the airport and fly to Kathmandu. We will be visiting Bhaktapur and have free lunch. In the evening, we will be having special Nepalese dinner in a restaurant.
