Macchapuchre Himal is one of the Himalaya’s most impressive and beautiful peaks. Rising to 6993m, it dominates the Pokhara valley, appearing higher than its even mightier neighbors due to its close proximity. Trekking due north from Pokhara, we head straight for the mountain to reach a vantage point, from which the close-up views of the mountain are fully truly superb. On the way we pass through several interesting and friendly villages and pass through a variety of vegetation, terraced fields and forests
Leaving Kathmandu early, drive westwards to the beautiful sub-tropical Pokhara valley (204 Kilometer in about 6 hours). Situated at just under 1000m. Pokhara is renowned for its large lakes and its abundance of flowers and birs and offers spectacular views of the nearby Annapurna mountains. Dominating the valley is Machhapuchhare- the Fishtail mountain, which is held scared and therefore has never been climbed.
Trek from Pokhara to hille. Take a short drive along the Magdi Khola as fas as Hyanja. Before crossing the river and starting to skirt the hill to the north above the Seti Khola. Even from here, there mountain views are magnificent. Walk past terraced fields and patches of mixed woodland to the small cluster of houses known as Ghachok, a Gurung village. From here it's a short walk to hile and camp.
Head west and the trail climbs to the top of the long ridge known as Odan Danda. From here, follow the ridge to the village of Khumai
Continue to follow the ridge northwards, with Machhapuchare becoming ever closer and larger
