Red Panda Trail

Red Panda Trail is one of the unrevealed route in Nepal. Red Panda is one of the endangered species of the world. It is getting extinct due to loss of their habitat. Red Panda is a shy animal lives in forest of Himalayas. Ghyangphedi Village is a main Gateway to this trail. It is a settlement of Tamang Community, away from modern world. This trial offers a beautiful opportunity to explore the Red Panda as well as local community.

 

 
01Day

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

On arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by representative and transferred to your designated hotel. After checking in at the hotel, you can either take a break or hang around in the city premises depending on your interest and time. In the evening, there will be a pre-trip discussion and a concise introduction by your tour guide.  Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

02Day

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

After breakfast, Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu.
The Swayambhunath area possesses the stupa with many temples, shrines, Tibetan monasteries, and statues of different gods. There is a small forest nearby the stupa which is homes of the red macaque monkey. Kathmandu Durbar Square in front of the old Royal Palace of the Kathmandu Kingdom. It is surrounded by spectacular architecture and vividly showcases the skills of the Nepali artist’s.  Boudhanath Stupa is one of the biggest holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu, Nepal. Pashupatinath is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located on the banks of Bagmati River. It is also Nepal’s most renowned Hindu Cremation site. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

03Day

Day 03: Kathmandu to Ghyangphedi, 5-6 hrs drive on four wheeler jeep

After breakfast, we will drive to Ghyangphedi via Nuwakot. Ghyangphedi is a small village settlement in the gorge of hills near the river. We will interact with locals and experience their lifestyles.

04Day

Day 04: Trekking up to Multhala (3,400m approx.) 6-7 Hrs walk

Ghyangphedi – Devithan- Ghyang danda- Gothkhyam-Multhala- Mera  After breakfast, we will start our trek from Ghyangphedi Village. The trek ascends on the stone paved steps about 1.30 -2Hrs to Ghyang Danda and then a gradual upward walk. During the trek, we will pass through green hills, valleys, and fields. After 1.30 -2Hrs we will reach Gothkhyam where we will stop for short rest, and continue ascending to the wild Rhododendron forest. After 3-4 hrs, we will reach the top of the Hills Multhala. Overnight in Tented Camp                                                                                                                                

05Day

Day 05: Explore Red Panda in Mera

Early in the morning, we will enjoy the spectacular sunrise view. We can also see a wonderful close-up view of the black Rocky Mountains. After early breakfast, we will take pack lunch and walk into the jungle to explore Red Panda. We have to be very silent and careful while walking in the bushes so that they won’t get disturbed. If you get chance we can take pictures without harming them.                  

Overnight in Tented Camp.       

06Day

Day 06: Trek to Chata Kunda 4-5 hrs walk

07Day

Day 07: Trek to Gosai Kunda 4-5 hrs walk 

08Day

Day 08: Trek down to Lauribinayak 3-4 hrs walk

09Day

Day 09: Trek to Dhunche 4-5 hrs walk

10Day

Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu 5 Hrs drive
